Hi, December 14th I'm flying out of Reagan Airport, Washington DC, to Knoxville and will return five days later. I'm sure prices for parking are all over the place so I'm asking for recommendations for parking for five days at reasonable rates.
Just get off the airport and take the metro. Metro is built in Reagan. It's cheaper to just take the subway ($9 all day pass), then take a cab to your destination if it's not near the metro, then drive here. Driving will eventually cost you a lot more headache and money than just coming here without a car or renting one once you get here.
Great idea, but I'm driving from Baltimore, MD, to Reagan Airport, then fly to Knoxville so I'll need to leave the car someplace for about five days until I return to Reagan Airport then drive home to Baltimore.
There are a lot of hotels in Crystal City near the airport, most with shuttles. You might want to check to see if any of them offer a park-and-fly option that doesn't also require you to stay overnight.
Thanks for the suggestions especially the metro but i caN't take the chance of arriving at the Greenbelt metro station only to find all of the seventeen available spaces occupied. I'll check again for airport parking then hotel parking which is probably as expensive or more so then airport parking.
I just remembered I've parked at the Greenbelt Metro station several times when making day trips into DC. I'll give 'em a call in the morning.
The extended lot at the airport or the Marriott lot are probably best. I liked the extened parking at the Greenbelt metro but from what i read it's the same rate as daily parking, ie a dollar an hour = $24.00/day.
Any problems finding the long term lot at Reagan or getting the shuttle to the terminal?
Thanks all.
After this trip I'm going to contact a travel agent to see if i can get a reaSonable flight to Knoxville out of BWI. Some months ago, I flew out of BWI on Air Tran but had to go through Orlando to get to Knoxville.
There is no charge for multi-day parking beyond the regular fee, paid with a SmarTrip card on the day of exit if exiting during collection hours (10:30 a.m. - midnight on Monday - Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. - 3 a.m. Friday).
you maybe able to park near Hilton. There are several parking lots. You could park there, and go to Hilton (not actually park at Hilton), but take the shuttle bus to the airport.
