I got a parking ticket on a out of state rental car while in DC. when i looked up the ticket number to pay it on the DC DMV site they have the incorrect state listed. Suggestions? As far as i can tell this ticket can not be matched to the car and therefore back to me.

I had a ticket like that once. I threw it out. They had my numbers correct, but the wrong state.

I would discard the ticket and forget about it. I can't imagine the authorities would go to the trouble of contacting the rental company to track down who had rented the car the day of the offense.
