I'm sorry, but I can't stand myself as a transplant. It's disgusting. I have to take 5 showers with a brillo to get this nasty feeling off of myself, being a transplant. I actually throw up when people say anything close to it, like "trans... portation" than there is a lot of vomit happening.
But the thing is, being Native means, in today's term, being outdated and not so adventurous. "so, your native? Stayed here for a long time? Grew up here and still here, huh? Did you know men went to the moon?"
We don't live in a native world anymore. It's like saying, free speech doesn't exist, or saying terrorism is an urban myth!
If you actually think about it, you actually live in China, considering everything you buy are made in China.
This native thing is the stupidest thing any, redneck, roughneck, English, Irish ever came up with.
Look at what happen to them? They use to be the native of "the Sh#t"!
NOt sure about the District itself, but in the Maryland and Virginia suburbs, a lot of the transplants from NY and NJ are obnoxious, stuck up, rude, unfriendly and elitist. Especially the yuppie and hipster types who drive through a black neighborhood to their hip coffee shop talking about how "ghetto" it is, and then while in the hip coffee shop talk about how the "racist inbred hicks and trailer trash rednecks of Georgia" didn't vote for Obama.

Are you single handedly trying to rekindle the American Civil War or something? This thread is about Native Washingtonians versus transplants to the area, not northerners versus southerners. Please stay on topic, given the fact that we don't live in a north-versus-south world anymore with the globalized society and population growth westward even within our own country. Most of my friends here are southerners and they're no different from anybody else except perhaps having less healthy eating habits and a comical aversion to anything below 50 degrees.
