Hi folks, heading to a concert at the Rock and Roll Hotel tonight. Wondering if you could recommend a place to eat - the Argonaut looks good so far but I thought I'd see what the locals say.

me and one of my boys caught a show over there not too long ago. Taylor gourmet is a great spot if you like sandwiches. There's Taco Impala which is one of the few places here that have actual good authentic tacos, but there's only a pickup window, no place to sit. I think they're using Philly water ices facility up until the spring. Horace & Dickies has delicious fried chicken, haven't tried the fish but I hear it's just as good. If you feel adventurous, you should check out Ethiopic; Very good ethiopian food. A lot of other places I'm sure others will chime in with, but those are a few of my faves. SmithCommons is supposed to be a nice sitdown joint that just opened up, haven't been there yet but heard a lot of good things.

Haha,I still have not jumped on the smartphone bandwagon!! It would have been helpful. Thanks for the ideas though.

The Rock and Roll hotel is a great venue so I know we'll be back for concerts in the future and we'll have to try all of these places. It's been my new years resolution for the last few years to explore DC more than my usual bi-annual trips.

We parked right near the Argo so we just went there. It was decent and reasonably priced. I had a cuban sandwich on nice bread and she had veggie lasagna, which needed a little bit of "churching up" if it was going to impress me.

We liked our waiter a lot. We spilled a glass of water on me accidentally and was pretty impressed when I barely cared at all. Got my makers mark and coffee comped . I was like, hey come over here and spill some more stuff on me!
