So I'm interning in DC for the summer (typical, I know) and I'm stuck in the whole "out-of-state/ don't know the area/ don't know anyone really/ don't own furniture" rut. I stumbled upon the WISH program that seems to house a slew of interns every summer and I'm probably going to end up going that route for the sheer convenience, but I'm anxious that I can't find any student reviews on teh experience. Anyone have anything to say about WISH? Is it work the money?
I used WISH when I interned in 2006, and I don't have anything negative to say about them. I rented a studio apartment on East Capitol. I also went through them to rent a parking space for the time I was there. I'm not sure if it was overpriced because I didn't have anything to compare it to, but after meeting with them the first day to pay and get the key, there was no more interaction with them. I got the feeling if something needed done they would have been quick to respond though.
Although the studio was VERY small, it had everything I needed. The furnishings they provide are adequate but nothing special. Without knowing if there are other companies that do similar things for intern housing, I would recommend WISH.
