if i had to have one last meal on earth, surely, french fries would be included in it. there's a time for sophistication and suits and ties and what not but nothing gets me more excited than a nice fresh batch of french fries. i know that duck fat fried french fries have been the newest trend to pop off recently. a few years ago it was all about sweet potato french fries. i recently had some fries that were fried in mangalitsa fat. totally underground foodie experience. i swear they were the best french fries i have ever tasted in my life! anyways, is there a spot in dc i should check for that has really good fries (and i don't mean frozen fries out of a plastic bag). share if you don't mind.
Good Stuff Eatery has good french fries. I hear the Fry Captain food truck has killer fries as well, including duck fat fries (on occasion). Blue Duck Tavern also has duck fat fries. Amsterdam Falafelshop's fries are also tasty.
Don't ever look up or talk to people about how to make checkers fries. I use to love checkers fries until I found out how they make it from a guy who worked there, a long, long, long, long time ago.
checkers has to be at the bottom of my list Way too greasy for the kid.
If we are talking about true fast food type of french fries than I will go with Popeye's as far as chain restaurants are concerned.
There is a little bar tucked away off of U st. down near Florida that serves duck fat fried french fries and absinthe drinks...i can't remember the name of the spot but they were good.
The new cajun ones they have are OK. I like BK's fries personally.
