Let's compare King Street and Braddock Road station on the Yellow and Blue lines. What's the difference in terms of access?

If I take the yellow from Huntington, I can get out at King Street and get on the blue line either going south or north. Can't I not do the same with Braddock Road station since it is both accessible by Blue and Yellow?

They are pretty much the same thing, but the King street station is the very last station where you will be able to transfer before the Blue and Yellow line split.

This, that's why it has the transfer station icon. Same logic as Mt. Vernon Square having the transfer icon, because during rush hour if you're riding the Yellow Line up to Fort Totten you'll have you transfer to the Green Line at MVSq.

None.

I'll note that for some stations in the system, like Crystal City, there IS a bit of a difference because some stations (like Crystal City) have side platforms while most stations have center platforms. At center platform stations, all you have to do is walk 20 feet from one side of the platform to the other to switch to trains heading in the opposite direction (unless you are near the front of the train and the train heading in the opposite direction is a 6 car train). At side platform stations, you need to use the escalators (or occasionally stairs) to access trains heading in the opposite direction, which is less convenient.
