So my friend's bachelor party is going to be in Vegas in mid November on the weekend. What would be a decent price to pay for airfare from DC? Thanks.

It depends really...I'm going for the 4th of July weekend and I got airfare and hotel for $460. Obviously the bigger hotel, the higher it would be. I wouldn't pay over $400 for a flight (tax included).

Just a sidenote: You're picking a bad time to go to Vegas. Mid-november bro?

Bachelor party. My friend's wedding is 3 weeks after. Right now I'm finding Airtran and Delta for around $435 tax included and Continental for $460. I'd rather do Continental because I already have some miles with them and the difference is negligible.

So given my time frame, when would be the best time buy tickets?

Well it's June so you have about 5 months....I'd wait until August and see what you can find. Check Kayak obviously, Expedia. Prices are going to be high right now b/c it's summer.

That sounds pretty good. Tickets out west have gotten crazy expensive. I've been to the west coast for half of that 8 years ago but times have changed. I say go ahead and get them whenever. Just don't wait too long.

I just bought tix to Vegas for a trip next month. I got a deal on AirTran for $350 round trip with a connection in Milwaukee. I think they're having a sale. Go to their website, the AirTran website price was cheaper than what I found on Priceline/Travelocity/Expedia.

Wow that's a really good deal. Alot of the sales on Airtran actually end the week before my trip. Would have saved a few bucks. I'll keep on the lookout. Thanks everyone!

bing.com has a nice little "trend" graph that will show you the history of the ticket prices and recommend a buy/don't buy.

Current price at Delta rountrip is $365 ($393 tax included). Trip is Nov 18-20 (Friday-Sunday). Pull the trigger? I looked at the seating chart and there seems to be alot of empty seats still. I looked at other dates in September and October to see what those prices are and the cheapest is $333 ($360 with tax).

I guess what are the chances it will go down even further?
