Hello--

My husband is in the process of accepting an offer working at Bolling Air Force Base. We're in Fredericksburg now, but don't really care for it, so it's a good opportunity for us to move closer to DC.

I am French and we are looking for a place that is international, and more so leaning toward liberal/environmentalist type folks, with green spaces around. And most importantly, a community oriented area.

We have a 2 year old, so right now schools are not an issue. We're only looking to rent for now. ($1,800 for a 3 bedroom would be ideal)

Also, my husband will be driving his car to work and we were hoping for a 30min max commute. Knowing that he would go to work really early to avoid traffic as much as possible.

If you have any recommendations, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
-e

no help....just bumping up for more responses......husband may be PCS'ing to Bolling late summer/early fall and we are trying to figure out best place to live; we have family in fredericksburg/ dale city (montclair) Montclair is the furthest south we would be willing to go for commuting; we have a pretty good BAH ($3000/mo) so we can afford a good area, but son will start school in 2013 so that is important, too
how long is commute from burke to bolling?

I'd say a max of 60 minutes. It depends on how many snarls in traffic there are.
