I'm going to be in town for a while and I'm staying with a friend in NE. I was thinking about taking the X2 bus into McPherson Square for the meetings I'm attending. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on how the bus is. Is it frequently delayed? Overcrowded? Any info you can provide would be helpful. I can use a smartrip card for bus now, right?

The X2 uses mostly extended buses and runs often. It does get crowded though especially during rush hour. I should warn you though this bus line is still a little interesting so expect to see any and everything.

Thanks! I'm familiar with the area (I used to live in DC) so I'm aware it probably a interesting route. Interesting I can deal with. I would only be using it during rush hour so I'm assuming there are plenty of commuters on there at that time and it's fairly normal (or at least there is more normal than crazy).
