Hah, I was just passing there yesterday and noticed that regular is $5.29!!!

And less than 50 or so yards away it's @ $3.89 at the Sonoco. There wasn't a single car at that Exxon.

It boggles my mind how a place that so obviously overcharges can stay open.

I just moved to the area and have been surprised how much prices differ from one place to the next right down the street or even across the street, but this one takes the prize.

There is a dispute between the owner and the manager; below is article from the Washington Post with the details:

We use that Exxon to put free air in our bike tires. As a matter of principle, I enjoy using his free services while laughing at the few dolts who i've seen proudly whip it in for a fill-up. It's almost as if they are proud to show the world that they willingly pay over-inflated prices for gas. As if the rest of us can't afford it LOL.....we can......but we won't.

The exxon on capitol hill price gouges big time as well... Unless it is an emergency, I would never buy gas at either. I normally wait till I go to Virginia or Maryland to fill up my tank.

I'm always shocked at how few gas stations are in DC. I feel like you can drive and drive in DC and never hit a gas station. There isn't a single gas station in SW, and the nearest is all the way on Pennsylvania Ave on the Hill (and is way overpriced). Crazy that it's quicker for me to get gas in Crystal City than in DC.

I just moved from River Park in SW two months ago. Trust me I know. I used to drive to Crystal city for gas all the time.
