Is there anything worth knowing about happening on the DC ballots this year, or is the main focus (as always) on the Presidential race?

It's been kind of a quiet election season for the DC area...

Nah. At-large council member is basically it, and none of the candidates are very exciting. Thinking about Grousso but nobody is really inspiring.

Yep. I always get the voter guide with sample ballots for items on it in each ward in the mail a few weeks before every election. On the ballot in ward 8 for November 6, 2012:

Electors of P/VPOTUS - 4 candidates, including Gary Johnson of Libertarian Party, and Jill Stein of Green Party
Delegate to house of reps.
At-Large member of the council, can choose 2 of 7 candidates
Ward 8 member of council
US Senator
US Representative
At-Large state board of education
Ward 8 member of state board of education
Advisory neighborhood commissioner, candidates' names aren't there yet

Proposed charter amendment V: Expulsion for gross misconduct in DC council
VI: Disqualification from office for felony conviction in DC council
VII: Disqualification from office for felony conviction for the mayor

Special Election chairman of the council

VOTE BOTH SIDES OF THE DOUBLE-SIDED BALLOTS
