Hi,

My wife and I are moving to DC. Can anyone suggest where we should start our search for apt rentals? Hoping to pay around 2000 dollars for a 2 bed near restaurants, stores...working near rhode island metro station but flexible regarding commute if the areas around there aren't great.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks

Very ambitious in DC proper. Especially if you want it in a nice area with retail.

If you look around the burbs, you could easily swing this...but you'd need a car most likely, obviously.

People's definition of "nice" varies a bit, but I think the H Street NE area might work...for now. It's gentrifying pretty quickly so I'm wondering what rents will be like in a couple of years, but here's a quick search I did. (Note: some of these places barely qualify as being near H Street.)

I think there is a bus that goes up towards RI, or you could bus/walk to Union Station and take the Red Line up to there.
