Is it feasible to find a 2 bedroom apartment in this neighborhood with a $2200/month budget?

I don't think you will find it for $2,200. Maybe $2,400 to $2,600.

DC is ridiculous with the rents smh, a person could live in Queens, NY for less and get more amenities. Hell you can get a fairly large house in Prince William County, VA and pay less than that in mortgage. But hey these yuppie newcomers rather live in steel glass buildings that look bland. To each their own.

You mean all of those vacant eyed white people I see clutching their pearls when the "locals" in Shaw or Petworth come within spitting distance of them? What's so "exciting" about DC that white people love? Seriously, I just don't get it.

Rich people are pushing the poor people out to the suburbs. It's a reversal of the trend from the late 1900s.

I am a hermit so I really don't care about excitement. The Onyx building looks like it might be good in this neighborhood but it's a little pricey.

Well, that's kind of how Capitalism works. Any landlord that is in business to make money isn't going to rent a place for any less than the market will allow him to rent said property for. Until there aren't enough "rich" people moving to and living in DC to sustain these rents, they will only keep going up.

Don't you agree?
