Good Day, I am a single, 40 something, professional woman planning a move to the DC-Metro area in October. However, I am unclear on the area that would best suit me. I'm wanting to keep my rent around 1500-1600 dollars with plenty of things to do around ( Dinner, music, museums, theater, shopping) As well, I would like to be near the metro rail. VA/MD/DC????? Any suggestions???

Well the first big question is, what neighborhood will you be working in/what metro stop/line is it on? Also, are you willing to take a studio apt that is usually what you will get for that price in DC. NOVA you can find great 1 bdrm deals around Crystal City and other close to DC border metro stops in NOVA.

For what you are looking for you will either want DC, or NOVA, - MD besides silver spring is pretty spread out and suburban.

Once you know those questions it will be easier to figure out where is best to live and get all your criteria checked off or at least most of it.
