Hi all,

i need some informations about living in washington DC.

I'm coming soon in the city for work, i'm single with 60k (gross) annual salary. Is it enough to live correctly ? i saw that i can rent some furnished apartment (studio) around 1800/month, but i have no idea about the cost of the life there.. food, mobile etc...

Do you recommend me some areas more than other to get an apartment? my work is near lafayette square, so i would like to be close ( around 15 minutes ) from my work place, by public services because i don't want to by a car.

i'm open to every help & information.
Thank you

With 60K you will be fine. You can also find studios cheaper than 1800 if you look.
You may not need to live close to work, but it would be a good idea to find a neighborhood walking distance from a metro and grocery store.

1800 including utilities sounds cheap, expect it to be really small. And are you comfortabel paying more than 50% of your nett income on rent?
