All the track work related delays on the weekends makes metro completely worthless on Saturdays & Sundays.

I was riding Metrorail 25+ years before riding public transportation became trendy.

Now in all seriousness I blame Richard Sarles for all of the recent fare hikes more than I blame the gentrifiers.
The least he could do is give gentrifiers more reliable rail service on the weekends.

Well being a rider of metrorail since the late 1970s I can tell you that all of the weekend track work delays did not start until the past 5-10 years.
5 years sounds more or less about right.
(5-10 years = The gentrification era)
Before then metrorail was much more reliable on the weekends with trains arriving and departing stations almost as frequently as during the weekdays.
Then all the gentrifiers/urban pioneers/walkability enthusiasts started relocating here thus overcrowding the trains and overcrowding an already aging system.

Is it possible metro was more reliable years ago because it was newer years ago? Is it possible that things break as they age?
More riders has nothing to do with the track work OR the fair increases. Clearly you have done ZERO research and just like to whine about gentrification and other things you know little about.

I dont understand this sense of ownership you have. This city was built from the beginning to have large numbers of transplants from all over the country and world coming and going to run the nation's government.
Why do you so aggressively assault people who do that? Were you assaulting people with money who abandoned the city and gentrified the suburbs back when you were young? Is it better to have our core transportation, water, power, and real estate infrastructure underutlized and just keep building bee stuff further out? Seems like a waste to me.
