The train runs from downtown DC to downtown Baltimore. There must be a dozen Hopkins facilities in Baltimore and DC is quite large so it's hard to say. Driving could be tough on one or both of you, but if your BF's job is close to metro and you're close to downtown Baltimore, consider living in either city close to the train.

You could live near BWI Airport (Hanover, Glen Burnie, Severn, Columbia) and take Amtrak or the MARC trains in opposite directions. You'll could live in either DC or Bmore and depending on which one, one of yall could take the train also. If either one of you'll drive, it will be hell on someone, no matter where you live.

You would certainly rather have no one drive if that's possible, but if one has to, live nearer to that one. If you both have to (yuck!), cheat a little toward DC...rush hour into Baltimore is bad, but not as bad as into DC. But with luck, MARC can be your saviour. There is good rush-hour service both ways. There are two lines between DC and Baltimore (Penn and Camden), and you can see the routes, schedules, and fares here...
