I'm moving from the UK to the Bethesda area in the Spring. This is a major life change so I'm aproaching it with excitement and nervousness.
In an attempt to engage my wife (who thinks DC is only museums & monuments), I'd appreciate if folks could provide tips on recommended weekend activities for a thirty-something couple with a two year old child.
Besides the museums, there's a lot of kids stuff in driving distance. You have the sports teams of course (DC United, Capitals, Redskins, etc.), orchards, botanical gardens, lakes/rivers (try Greatfalls/C&O canal)...
Hopefully that's a start, I'm sure others have many more ideas, but that's off the top of my head.
