Getting hitched in DC next June and the fiancee and I are having a hard time coming up with some cool wedding favor ideas. Anyone seen anything at other weddings they've been to that we could steal? Don't worry about the cost, just throw out ideas for now and I'll see what we can afford. Thanks!

Most "favors" are just thrown away - essentially a waste of money. The ones that people like are the ones you can eat. So, why not get custom cookies in the shape of the local landmarks and monuments?

Agreed - having coordinated several weddings and been MoH several times, stick with the edible favors. 1. Why do you want to spend $2-$10 per person on something that will likely get thrown out or left on the table. 2. putting that money toward say a sweet treat or a food item indicative of where you are from/live is a way of introducing people to something you love. 3. Dare I say it - many brides are completely skipping a favor and opting instead on a candy/dessert bar or even late night snacks - sliders and fries anyone?

If you are dead set on providing a token to every guest, then I would say to make it personal. What's your favorite museum/monument? Then go from there. YOu could go to the giftshop at said museum to find inspiration.

good luck

I always thought, it would be awesome to have a wedding on top of the National Monument.

While it may be awesome, it isn't allowed.

"There are three (3) permitted locations for wedding ceremonies within the National Mall and Memorial Parks:
• Jefferson Memorial, West Lawn: Two (2) hour limit
• George Mason Memorial: One (1) hour limit, No set-up is permitted
• DC War Memorial"

Maybe the bride and groom and celebrant could head up as regular tourists and just make it happen at the top.....
