DCNative,

I was making fun of your broad generalization. This is a major city, so anything can happen anywhere. I have seen teens beat up someone at Tenleytown. Your statements and others are sort of reckless. I see it all the time, NW is safe! Don't go to SE! How ridiculous is this statement. Parts of NW are more dangerous than certain parts of SE.

Good luck on your move.

Anything can happen anywhere at any time of day, you just have to execute caution.

There's the story of a woman attacked on the Green Line one Saturday night, and only a teenaged girl helped her.

Not trying to scare you, but just telling you to execute caution.

Note I used the word "generally", as in so-and-so is "generally safe". That doesn't mean what I'm referring to is ALWAYS safe. There's a difference. Let's face it, we all make generalizations to simplify this complex world, otherwise we'd drive ourselves crazy. Yeah, there are freak incidents that happen anywhere, I'll give DC that.
