Hi. My husband needs to rent a place for about a month in April and May of this year. We'd like to find a two bedroom so I could visit with our kids.

He will be attending a board exam prep at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, so I've been told it would be good to live off of the "red line" to save time transferring.

So far I've looked at Georgetown, Dupont Circle and Logan Circle areas. We would like to stay in the city to be closer to the museums, restaurants, bars, grocery, etc. We're not really that interested in suburbs.

Suggestions, please???

Thanks!
Joey

Sounds like you are looking for a one month sublease in a furnished apartment. Sometimes it can be hard to find a good sublease opportunity, particularly when the term will only be for a single month. One thing to consider is to see if a hotel in the district might be able to give a discount on a hotel room if you are willing to pay for all 30 days in advance. If the hotel is guaranteed up front money for 30 straight days, they might be willing to charge, say, $70 a night on a $140 room.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but it's close to Eastern Market (not too far from the museums on the Mall) and has price negotiations (from CraigsList---it was in the apartment category instead of the sublet/temporary one):

$130 / 1br - LGE 2-STORY CARRIAGE HSE. FOR SHORT-TERM STAY. WALK TO MAJOR SITES (http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/apa/575328226.html - broken link)

Here's the specific DC sublet/temporary list of places on CL if you wanted to tailor-make it to your needs.

Sounds like he's going to the AFIP which I'll be attending. Finding accommodation is a nightmare. And it's worse from Ireland!
