I have a question about choosing a Managed Care Organization (MCO). I am a healthy Millennial who is in the process of looking for a full-time job. I am in DC, and was recently authorized to receive Medicaid Managed Care. I was wondering if those living here longer had any recommendations between AmeriHealth Caritas DC, CareFirst Community Health Plan DC, an MeStar Family Choice. I do not need any medical appointments in the future but will be going to see a dentist within a week or two. Thank you.
I'm only familiar with CareFirst, but not that specific plan you're talking about. I've had CareFirst a number of years, on and off, as I moved from job to job in DC. I never had a problem with them. CareFirst is local to the region so almost every healthcare provider around here accepts them.
