What are the most active cosmopitan areas of DC? I'm looking for a place where there are young educated professionals and lots of shops and coffee shops.

DuPont, Logan, U St, Adams Morgan, Gallery Place. All come with a heft price tag. Some would suggest G'town but personally I don't like it...to many out of towners around ..good to shopping once and while though

Dupont sounds like what you want. Some people like Downtown Bethesda Maryland which is 10 min away from Dupont.

Cheers!

I second (or third, really) the suggestion of Dupont. It's a great area!
