I posted this on the Seattle forum, but didn't have any luck, so thought I'd try here. We are both PTs and are thinking of moving to the Seattle area. We wondered if we could get opinions from other PTs about what it's like to practice in and around Seattle. Specifically, which are good hospitals for Acute Care PT? We do wound care as PTs at our current job...does PT do wound care in Washington? Thanks for any info.

Not a PT, but have been a PT patient quite a few times and can say that here in Mount Vernon (1+ hour North on I-5) PTs are involved in wound care at least where I received some treatment. Why don't you PM me if you are interested to know about areas not strictly around Seattle. I can tell you what I know about Mount Vernon, which by the way is not a bad area!

Hi, I am a special educator studying to be a PT aide when I retire. Right now I believe there is a shortage of PTs in Washington. My favorite PT is
Craig Smith at Group Health in Spokane. He has done training/teaching/board work at the college and university level. He also goes to professional growth in Seattle. I am sure he is connected at the professional level. As a Special Education Director in the most beautiful county in WA, I will tell you we are actively looking for a PT/OT to serve
the Republic School District. I am sure the three/four neighboring districts need the same. Right now Ron O'Halloran at the Ferry County Hospital is recruiting as am I at Republic School District (509)775-3171.

Default I am a physical therapist and own a clinic in the Seattle area!

Would love to chat! We have therapists that specialize in a variety of areas and support our therapists to grow their own expertise and passion. Reimbursement is good so pay is extremely competitive. We definitely need more physical therapists in Seattle. Check out our website https://www.hidefpt.com and let us know if you have questions.

I'm another recent patient, for me it was a rotator cuff impingement. I ended up at a sports injury PT place, and it was hard to get appointments, as they were very busy.

There is a medical staff shortage in WA. Crime, drugs, a serious homeless issue, and some of the most expensive housing in the nation has many in desirable fields of work "punching out" for other states. How much of that you can tolerate vs. the opportunity you'll find is something you'll need to carefully weigh on your own. Some statistics show WA sliding from one of the best states to 46th, depending on what's important to you.

Don't know about a physical therapist in PT or MT Vernon but I went to one in Port Hadlock Just south of PT for a roto cliff injury about 20 years ago. She got my movement back in my shoulder in about two/three months.
When I moved to Sequim I had a leg problem and went to a physical therapist on 5th ave medical center just south from the OMC. The women therapist there found the problem that the doctor didn't and directed me to a specialist and he diagnosed the real problem. A pinched nerve in my back.

What does that have to with finding a Physical Therapist? Not helpful at all.

of course you searched? (I've only used PT in Bremerton and Silverdale)
478+ openings in Seattle listings
https://www.ziprecruiter.com/Jobs/Ac...-in-Seattle,WA
https://providence.jobs/seattle-wa/p...17DEF7A78/job/
https://www.payscale.com/research/US...-WA-Acute-Care

There is a big VA (veteran's medical) in South Seattle and plenty of VA / civilian military jobs near Joint Base McChord (Tacoma), as well as a VA center in Bremerton.

I'm just curious what other medical professions are in demand? Like is a pharmacy technician one of them?
