I've been looking into alternative ideas and would like to hear from others who may have done these themselves or have some knowledge about them.

I've run into quite a few "tiny house" websites and blogs. Being able to have a home and be mobile is very tempting and(to me anyway considering where I live now) the weather wouldn't be as much of an issue since it is much milder in WA than in New England. Are there any of you living in a tiny home in WA and how has it been for you?

I've also looked into buses being converted into motor homes, some people have lived for 30 years or more in them. Any of you out there doing this and how's the parking?

One thing I really like about the above ideas is that no matter where I have to park, I have a home. I may have to move it elsewhere but I'd still have a home to go home to.

I would second Ellensburg. As for snow. There seems to be plenty. It is higher elevation than Moses Lake/TriCities/Yakima, and colder in winter. You might even consider a bit up the hill in Cle Elum, probably less winter fog. Both would be within a two hour drive of Puget Sound in good traffic. Ellensburg gets less than 10 inches of rain but 30 inches of snow per winter, with, of course, tons of snow nearby. Seems like it would be more convenient than Spokane, and less foggy and cloudy. That said, I personally like Spokane.

I've decided to purchase a bus to convert to an RV. I'm looking at a coach and if I like it I will need to find a place with power(power tools rawr!) and internet(conversion information, parts hunting and streaming movies/gaming at night) to work on it this summer.

I'll need to be around western WA because the electrical guy is south of Seattle, so somewhere around there would be great.

Does anyone know of or have some space I could rent for a few months(June, July, August and maybe part of Sept.) while I do this? I can provide an excellent rental reference for the last 3 years. Thank you.
