I and 12 year old twins have from 6/19th( disembarking from a cruise ship) to the 25th leaving late at night to explore the Seattle, are, possibly the olympic peninsula, maybe to portland- Mt Ranier and Mt Saint Helens, maybe white water rafting... we are up for anything but there is just too much to do and see!!!! I am, frankly overwhelmed at this point and my kids are no help at all in the planning of the trip. Any suggestions to help me focus our trip to enjoy and get the most out of our time there? B and B's, farm stays, motels... anything is fine. We will have a car. Thanks.

We did the Olympic Peninsula 2 years ago. We took the ferry across from Seattle to Bainbridge Island (have a friend there) and then drove up to Port Angeles and all around the OP. LOVED it. My kids STILL talk about it to this day. So much so that we accepted a job transfer to WA! Lots of waterfalls, rain forest, etc etc etc.

I agree with taking a ferry to Bainbridge Island, then check out Poulsbo
and continue on to Port Angeles. After that you really shouldn't miss Hurrricane Ridge. If your kids are into that vampire book/movie you pass through Forks on the way to the Hoh Rainforest. Then continuing down through Lake Quinault, folowing a map or GPS you will eventually get to
Ocean Shores. From there the rugged Oregon Coast route on 101 to Tillamook is great, then go east to I5 in Portland and back up to Seattle.
At that time the Portland Rose gardens will be in full bloom. St. Helens and Rainier are side trips on the way back up.

If you time it right you should still have a day or two to check out Seattle itself, but there's so much more to the NW than just Seattle. The cruise terminals at both Piers 91 and 66 should have information for you but if not stop by the lobby at Pier 69 where I work, we have a lot of brochures
and helpful staff at the desk.

While in Victoria, June is a great time of the year to see Buchart Gardens.

Probably want to spend an overnight there.

I stay in private guest homes ~ $20 / night with family. Similar to couchsurfing.

I would take the counterclockwise route and go around the pennisula and down as much of the OR coast as possible. You have enough time to see the Redwoods in Northern, CA, and also Crater lake on the way back to Seattle. There is much to see an plenty to do so pick out a few highlights and be flexible. Portland Rose Gardens are a must see, free concerts many nights in summer. Be sure to drive out into the Columbia Gorge, I prefer eastpound on WA SR-14 at least to Cascade Locks (40 minutes) and return on the old Scenic Highway on the Oregon side of river (parallel to I-84). The food at Multnomah Falls Lodge is really good. Breakfast is most affordable. Multnomah Falls - Google Search
When near Mt Rainier I suggest dropping by this free attraction. danielklennert
