My partner and I are thinking about getting an apartment in historic downtown Everett. Can anyone tell us what it is like?

Default Looking for information on Historic Downtown Everett

Thank you for the reply. I did check out that information and it seems like there are mixed reviews about the area.

I am looking at an apartment now that is in the "historic downtown" area according to the ad. Now we are in California so I have not been to Everett but to Seattle one time. If there is anything else that you or anyone else can provide that would be wonderful.

What street is it on? Historical downtown could mean a variety of neighborhoods. Broadway, Colby, Everett Ave....

It is located at 2101 Rucker Ave. I am not really sure where this is at.

That is very close to the naval base. I used to work down on the everett waterfront, it's very industrial and pretty ugly. But if I remember correctly, there are some pretty charming neighborhoods north of the naval base on Grand and Rucker, so that address might be good. Put that address in here and click on birds-eye view. It might give you a better idea of the neighborhood. Make sure you use the directional views. I use this all the time when searching for real estate.

An up and coming transitional area. Has been run down and poor in the past, but being upgraded all the time. Has some nice areas and is near the water.

Lots of artists and creative people have been abandoning Seattle due to high rents and housing costs - many are migrating to Everett and Tacoma.

Most restaurants/cafes are congregated below 529/Everett Ave (basically 27th).

Walk Score rates the address as a 71 (Very Walkable):

https://www.walkscore.com/score/2101...erett-wa-98201

The neighborhood, Bayside, has a Walk Score of 78, and is rated as the most walkable neighborhood in Everett. Bayside generally runs south from 19th.
