Hi everyone, my wife and I are looking to move from downtown Bellevue for a change of pace. We are thinking about buying a home soon and starting a family, where good education is important. We want to know more about Mill Creek (MC) area (i.e. MC Downtown or MC Country Club) or any other areas that might be better. THANKS for your time and help!

MILL CREEK vs. Bothell vs. Woodinville
1. How is the living environment (safety, crime, etc.)?
2. Average cost of homes and size?
3. Education or schooling (plus and minus)?
4. Area(s) for sure to avoid, etc.
5. Any other feedback

Default Mill Creek

I have been living in the area for almost 2 years and love it. The schools are great, the area is nice and well maintained. Mill Creek has great new town center, beautiful homes and is a very safe place. People are always walk or jogging on the sidewalks. The traffic can be aweful at time but not too bad. It gets worse as you make your way towards Lynnwood or Bothell.

Mill Creek, and especially the areas to the west, have grown dramatically in the past decade. This is becoming a true suburban area in the Sea-Everett metro. Not much rural land left. I remember the Bothell-Everett highway as being mostly rural in the 80's. A trip through earlier this year showed dramatic development since then.

Quick funny story...this goes back to around 1984, when Mill Creek was just starting to gain density. I, a young dude, decided to drive around and see what was happening in the area, (always with an interest in development), and one homeowner flagged me down and asked me who I was and what I was doing driving around this area! Mind you, this was a public area, and I politely told him it was none of his business. He said he would call the cops!

Thankfully, things have changed since that incident!
