Question: I'm trying to develop a contingency plan in the event of snow for getting to work. I can take the Sounder to Tacoma, but then how to get from Tacoma to the American Lake VA? Can you cab it, or is this also not a great option in snow?

I know folks say not to drive around here in snow. I can borrow some chains from a neighbor...but still nervous about trying to make the drive in snow. Trying to explore some other options now...

Any suggestions?

If its so bad you need chains, the roads will be closed anyway. It rarely ever snows in puget sound, and it normally doesn't hang around very long when it does.

It snows here so infrequently that it shuts down everything. Buses have snow routes and many of the normal runs are not in use. If you call a cab they will all be busy or not running due to lack of chains or drivers that didn't make it in to work. Most employers will either allow working from home if set up with computer access or let people take personal time off on snow days.
It would be very rare for the bad road conditions to last more than a day or two, has happened maybe 3 times since we moved here in 1993.
