Langley might be worth checking out. A small town of about 4,878 people, in the largely rural setting of southeast Whidbey Island. By many accounts it may have a tolerant vibe, maybe enhancing.

Or one of the San Juans.

Moderator cut: off-topic My first option would be Bellingham without a doubt. It has a very liberal population, its very beautiful, and has a very small town feel. Walk hand in hand on the peer by the sound and be happy for the rest of your life.

Moderator cut: off-topic, orphaned I would like to know if any of you agree with my selection of Bellingham being the perfect small city for gay or lesbian couples searching for the perfect place to live?

Personally I think it would be an excellent choice, assuming the couple aren't looking for a smaller town and are okay with the weather.

I believe they are from Seattle, so it shouldnt be too much of a climate shock.

Ah yes, I didn't notice that when I read the OP. Bellingham might be a good choice over a really small town, then.
