I ask because out here, it's EXTREMELY difficult to create any sort of social interaction with Asians unless they're out of a different country but have been in the States for an extended period. I know some that came from Korea that are perfectly easy to talk to, some that come from Germany, some that come from Japan, etc. But it seems like others just won't give you the time of day. I understand about their social norms but some of it is just ridiculous. Silly things like explicitly seeking white men out.

The days draw nearer...I will be moving up there, somewhere, probably Renton, in the next two weeks. I have a ton to do...but I will be in unknown territory for the first time in my life. It's not like here where I mastered how to work with those around me. I'll be the underdog, but that means I will have to make friends that I wouldn't otherwise.

uh...no?

I have never meant an "anti-black" person here or in Cali.

You sure you aren't just unattractive or something?

All people tend to stay with their own so I don't think there is that much anti-anything, just the tendency to naturally flock... same way everywhere. Don't make this something it is not.

I think the responses in this thread, and the lack of much response, should answer your question.
