Another place I like is Waffles Cafe, right there at the very north end of 1st Avenue in Yakima. They do breakfast and lunch only IIRC.

Probably I am repeating a past post, but I like Mel's Diner as well, truck-stop style chow, good, hearty, uncomplicated. Probably you would not want to eat there every day unless you work out or do some sort of very physical job, lest you gain weight...

Anybody know if the old Pomona Cafe has re-opened? It's right at the south end of Canyon Road.

I finally ate the Big Miner's burger last Saturday. The Major's burger last month. Ate two cookies from Essencia Bakery last Thursday. Waffles Caffe has two locations so I will try either location. Is there any ice cream bar other than Baskin-Robbins and Cold Stone Creamery?

I thought there was a Cold Stone there next to the Yakima Valley Mall, down on the south end of first street?

I saw it just after moving to Yakima on the first week of March. Then I revisited this location two weeks ago but I did not find it. I googled but did not locate the one in Union Gap.

OK, you know about the one location that I have seen, there in Union Gap, maybe they closed? I'm not that big of a sweet tooth, so don't pay as much attention to ice cream shops.

What about Miner's? I think they have the usual "burger joint" type sweets - milkshakes, maybe they have a few decent ice cream dishes? Probably they won't have a lot of different flavors, though.

What's about Zesta Cucina? Tonight it was nearly full. So I will try to dine there.

Miner's Diner is the best one in the entire area. FYI: Cold Stone is a chain that is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ. Before moving to where I am now, I lived within a couple miles of their corporate headquarters. Their ice cream is the best, in my opinion. Even on a hot Arizona summer day, I could sit outside and enjoy my "Gotta Have it All" sized ice cream without it completely melting, turning into liquid.
