I'm a young single female looking for a safe apartment near Everett. I've been reading online reviews and am trying to get a sense of the best neighborhoods to search in. I was told Mill Creek or Mukilteo would be a good start. Can anybody offer insight into any specific apartments that I should consider? I'm willing to pay up to $1000. Safety is my biggest concern. I can deal with poor management and maintenance as long as I feel safe in my apartment. Another thing to note, I will be commuting via I-5 to work so I'd like to have quick access to the interstate if possible. My job is in Anacortes (I know it's a 60 mile commute, but rentals are slim to none up there). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I'm very unfamiliar with the area!

Besides the two you mentioned, Edmonds. On the other hand, you can cut that commute way down by looking at Lake Stevens, Stanwood, Mt. Vernon or even Sedro-Wooley. Just avoid Marysville, and most of Everett, especially Casino Drive area. If you can be north of Everett you will avoid the Boeing traffic that ties up I5 every day.

Thanks for the info! I'm considering Bellingham as well. Are there any suggestions specific to that area?

There are always a lot of apartments in Bellingham, but they will rip you off in Bham. They are taking advantage of the college students in Bellingham, and you often get far less for the money.
