I'm new to the area and have always worn my hair short. I had a really bad cut in Tacoma about a month ago an I'd rather not repeat it! Can anyone help me out on a good hair stylist? I live in the Tacoma area and am willing to drive maybe 30 mins, but not all the way to Seattle if I can avoid it. I don't want to spend anymore than about $70. I'm in my early 30's and work in the corporate world so I want something cute and modern but not too edgy or over-the-top. Not that I'm saying I look like Sharon Stone or anything, but if anyone remembers how her hair was when she had it really short, that's the look I had a while back and something I'd like to achieve again. Any thoughts?

Hi,

I've used Baroque Salon off of 6th Ave (606 North State Street), right next to the middle school there (can't think of the name). I've also been to Fox Fire Salon in Fircrest (pricey). They are great too!

My personal recommendation would be Caryn at Salon Halo. Located on Portland Ave and about 100th (9906 Portland Ave E, 98445). 253-537-5421 It's really easy to get to off of Hwy 512. I went to Caryn to fix to color job that someone else botched on me, she did fabulous. She's great, lots of fun, down to earth. I will keep going back to her for a long time...and I currently live in Portland!

Debi at Fox Fire is a family friend--she does great work, but Back2sa is correct, Fox Fire is really expensive.

I can also recommend Pepper's Salon in Puyallup, but they are fairly pricey too.

Try Bethany at Vamp Salon in downtown Tacoma. She cuts my hair and does a great job. My mom got her hair cut by her and liked it and a few girls at my work get it done by her and it always looks great.
