What ethnic groups do you associate Washington State with. Ethnic group like German, Norwegian, Swedish, English, Scottish-Irish, Irish and Dutch. Also, do black people, Asian American Indians in Washington State have a significant influence on Washington State. What European ethnic group have much influence on Washington State, WASP, GERMAN AND NORWEGIAN. In addition, do most people living feel connected to the MIDWEST OR NORTHEAST(NEW ENGLAND).

Washington is a big state, and I think it kind of varies from one part of the state to another. I doubt if there is anywhere in Washington State where, say, Irish or Dutch is thought of as an "ethnic group". A person in the state who is of Dutch descent probably doesn't even know which of his acquaintances are also of Dutch descent.

Most people in Washington did not associate closely with their ethnic backgrounds/ancestry. You do not see the ethnic cliques and communities that you do in other parts of the country. There are no Italian or Irish neighborhoods. Even the ones that do identify strongly with one group, such as the Norwegians in the Seattle neighborhood of Ballard, are extremely diverse and the associations is pretty much tradition and kitsch.

Among white americans, the largest ancestries are the same as the national average: German, English and Irish with also a bit more Scandinavians ancestries.
