Can you narrow it down, please? Obviously there are "jobs" in Tacoma.

Administrative Assistant. The only jobs I ever see here are for the hospitals and you submit your resume and you never hear anything.

A lot of these jobs are put on hiring agency job lists for temp-to-hires.

I have sent resumes to agencies and they dont even respond. (And at one time in the past when I was here, I went to an agency and was told there weren't any jobs and they tested on advanced skills and there still werent any jobs.) It has been my experience with these agencies that they just post these jobs when there really isn't a job available, but I think they just need to keep people on their lists ready and available just in case something comes up, not to mention, in my opinion, to justify their jobs.

Check out Craigslist.org and the classifieds. And hospitals do need HUCs, are you following up on your resumes?

Having a local address and phone number might be good to have if you don't already have em.
