I wanted to update you all. We found a rental home in Puyallup. The cost was a little more out of my price range than was ideal, but I feel it is a safe area, good school district and a good fit for our family. Thanks so much for your help!

I moved here from Iowa with my husband and 3 kids. I can say this for a fact. I lived on S. 7th St. when we first moved up here we thought we had done our research before buying a house in Tacoma however when we moved up here it was a terrible neighborhood. We found out that it used to be a gang infested place and it was cleaned up it wasn't. So we moved from there within a year. Moved to S. 25th and Cushman which they call the New Tacoma that neighborhood was bad. After a year there we moved to S,112th st. that was bad also. Now we are living E. 58th St. in Tacoma this is still just as bad. Between the gunfire, crackheads, methheads walking around all time of night. Also you have people coming by other people houses to shoot their cars up. People breaking into garages and some bad school district by what we have seen. Our kids don't even go to Tacoma schools due to the fact that when we first moved up here certain schools in Tacoma has no control. Also there is this, the landlords that I have done with is full of crap. Slumlords they never want to fix anything but they know how to say money money money. So with that said it is better to move up north like Issaquah, Port Orchard, Silverlake, Gig Harbor, etc. Good luck and God Bless.
