Hello! We just moved from Maple Valley, WA to Southern CA. We need a family to rent our home. It is a great family oriented neighborhood, great schools, and I have to say I really miss our house. My husband works for Boeing, or as we like to say (Boeing, oh darn I guess we are going!)

I love Olympia! The schools are great and housing somewhat affordable. I would recomend it to anyone.

I grew up in Pocatello, about an hour from Idaho Falls. We visit Olympia a lot. If you like cold and barren pick Idaho Falls. If you want moderate and beautiful, pick Olympia.

Kennewick is part of the Tri-Cities. The area is based around the Columbia River, housing is affordable and it's growing like crazy. If you want a rural setting, just outside the city limits are farms and smaller towns.

I just have to say, if you're looking to be by Christian schools, I'm not sure if Idaho Falls is right for you. Idaho Falls is predomently Mormon so every corner and everywhere you look, there are Mormon temples or whatever they call them. I'm Catholic and they just don't serve the catholic community like they do the mormon community.

Why would you want to move to a place that is growing like crazy!!!!
I would pick Spokane as a great place to relocate to...
It will never grow like crazy, four seasons, great restaurants, shopping,
schools, low crime, and housing is still afforable.

Default From one Sacramento Girl to another!!!!

My husband and I currently live in sacramento. We are considering relocating to the Port Townsend area this year or next year. My husband has had it with the hour commute back and forth to work, rude drivers and heat in the summers. I however hate snow since I grew up in it. I also love the 300 sunny days in Sacramento. Do you know anything about Port Townsend and how much snow they have had this season? I have family outside of Seattle so that would be a plus. Thanks for your help!

Growing like crazy proves we have a good economy. It's not chaotic, I meant that it's growing quickly and other services will follow to balance it all out. Spokane is stagnant, even if it is bigger than the Tri-Cities. Also isn't there the risk of radon gas in the basements in Spokane?

I wouldn't call Spokane stagnant, it's growing steadily, albeit at a slower pace than some areas. As far as Radon in the basements, please, there's Radon everywhere. It's easily dealt with.

From the EPA website---

Nearly 1 out of every 15 homes in the U.S. is estimated to have elevated radon levels. Elevated levels of radon gas have been found in homes in your state. Contact your state radon office for general information about radon in your area. While radon problems may be more common in some areas, any home may have a problem. The only way to know about your home is to test.

I be real concerned about radioactive waste or radiation exposure from Hanford in the Tri-Cities... No one believe's that town is a real threat to a terrorist attack with a nuclear faclility near!!!
One big waste leak and the whole Tri-Cities would be a ghost town. I guess every area has it's good and bad. Just tired of Tri-Cities being over-rated!!!
