My husband and I are moving from Arkansas to Tacoma. We are curious if the Stillwater Building 245 TACOMA AVE SOUTH, Stadium District area is safe/nice? It looks close to Wright Park and walking distance to the bay. I can not find many photos, please let me know if this area is safe/nice.

THANKS!

It is a very diverse area. Several years ago, it was generally a tough place with a fairly high amount of drug use in Wright Park. Now, I think it's a beautiful area. I don't know much about the building itself, I've only driven by. There are some very expensive homes and some very inexpensive apartments all very nearby. You're in a great location in terms of walking distance to Tacoma, with good public transit around you. Wright Park has gotten much nicer over the past several years.
I'd say yes, it is safe generally, but like most places in most cities, I'd be cautious walking at night. Daytime, no worries at all for me.

Tacoma is slow pace and not crime cityBelieve me,i watch the news 3x a day and read the paper. You will be right downtown tacoma. The 2 biggest hospitals real close by.same goes for court house, museum, theater, banks, the freeway and train station.
Everything the above poster said was right on.
You won't need a car.Everywhere you go you will see the water[industrial]A five minute drive will get you to the waterfront where downtown tacoma takes their dogs for a walk, goes jogging or fishing of the pier. All the roads around you will be steep. In the tacoma area you will be going either uphill or downhill.
It stays green all year round and the rain is no big deal.No Tornadoes. No humidity in the sumertime.you can sit on the grass and go in the woods without worring about snakes.been to the ozarks, that's why i had to throw that in.
