Seems an extraordinary amount of homes being listed in Sudden Valley vs everywhere else in the Bellingham region/Whatcom county....??

No other neighborhood as so many homes for sale..

Something I am missing?

Do a search and you'll learn why -- it's relatively dark in certain gates, very steep hills in some, an HOA with rules and a history of infighting, "far" from town (ie. 7 miles at 35 mph with a smaller 25 mph very policed stretch, doesn't allow backyard chickens, lots of deer and raccoons (and even a bear, coyotes and mtn lions -- though sightings are rare), has no sidewalks for kids, has some community buildings and play structures in disrepair, and has too much public access for some (ie. YMCA and library in gate 2).

Given all of that, I love it here! We have a water view on a sunny lot in a decent house that was dirt cheap and way more spacious than what we could find in Seattle. We love our neighbors. The schools are excellent, as far as public schools go. We are buying a canoe for the kids. We have a dog park and playground in our gate. Fireworks during 7/4 are insane. It is quiet. Plants grow exceedingly well. We installed a gas fireplace. The walks and views are gorgeous. The little shopping strip has good prepared foods. I can get a quick pizza or tacos for the kids for dinner at the restaurants. We didn't buy with concerns for resale, though most do, so we're happy. I think one day, when jobs eventually come to Bham and it becomes the next big tech center with outdoors loving hipsters, that the prices will skyrocket and SV will be a discovered hidden gem.
