Hello:
Will be moving to Puyallup in the near future to be closer to my grandchildren. We are looking at the Puyallup area.
Any tips on what areas are bad, which area is best for nature trails, walking, restaurants, and shopping.
I have heard South Hill is nice, but is very crowded and traffic woes. As I am retired, I am not so concerned about the traffic.
Any help would be greatly appreciated; also, suggestion on any other city that would work for a retiree.

Many Thanks
John

How about Bonney Lake? Not far from Puyallup, less traffic.

Theres a neighborhood called Gem Heights in South Hill. Its a housing development, but upscale, if you will. Homes in the $280-$350K range. Not sure what your budget is. Its close to everything, and there is a wide trail for walking/cycling around the entire neighborhood. I would stay as far away from north Pierce County if I were you. Areas like Edgewood, Tacoma, Spanaway (more south), Parkland, Fife, Milton...etc. Those areas tend to have higher crime. I grew up in the Greater Puget Sound area and know the culture very well. You are going to want to find a place where the median income is closer to the $100-150K range.....just my $0.02....

Gem Heights is a great neighborhood. Also look into the Sunrise development. Manorwood is also a very desirable neighborhood as well
