I would be very doubtful that just 3% of the population of Washington considers themselves homosexual. I mean it aint San Frain but it aint El Paso either.

This is the same reason the Silicon Valley has one of the highest male sex ratios in the country. There are so many surplus males there that San Jose has been nicknamed Man Jose.

As my mother used to say about the issue of Men outnumbering Women in Alaska:
"The odds are good, but the goods are odd"

I did the math based off US Census estimates.

Even at the highest level of males being 50.1% of the population, the difference between men and women is 14,576. Not exactly a cause for alarm.

Are you calculating for men and woman ages 21-41? The flood of transplants are between those ages.

Since women live longer than men the overall sex ratios are misleading since all the female surplus is in the oldest age groups. Sex ratios are more interesting 18-44 than 18+ and are often quite grim for young single men, especially in the Western U.S where there is a large young male surplus in most of the region.
