Don't come to WA for easy traffic.
It's a nightmare that gets worse all the time.

It's not great. But, Washington is still better than many other big cities. Los Angeles, the absolute worst, any hour, any day, a parking lot for the majority of the day and night. Hours to go a few miles. Atlanta and D.C., beyond terrible. Austin, Manhattan, jammed during long rush "hours."

No doubt there are traffic issues in those regions.
However, I felt compelled to make my comment as anyone moving to this region for the 'easy traffic' is going to be disappointed. Very disappointed.

Traffic woes depend on where you are. Traffic in Kitsap County (where OP is looking) is nothing compared to King or Pierce Counties. Only a few real rush "hours" in Kitsap--Hwys. 303 and 304 between 4 and 5 p.m. (PSNS day shift dismissal), Hwy. 305 S after 3:30 p.m. (Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor day shift dismissal), and Sunday afternoon ferry loading lanes (Kingston, BI, and Bremerton--worst in the summer months).

OK, I'll admit, Silverdale is messy during December because it is the retail hub of Kitsap County and everyone is Christmas shopping.

Hwy 303 in Kitsap is a nightmare throughout the summer IMO. Bumper to bumper that last two Saturdays. 4 hour trip from Sea-Tac airport. That two lane hwy from Poulsbo to the Hood Canal bridge is the pits. And I am from Seattle.

The OP has already been living in the area for a year. This is an old thread. S/he hasn't been back to complain, so we can assume all is relatively well. Thanks for taking us on a stroll down last year's Memory Lane, though.
