My family and I are trying to move to Washington state from NC and we are having a very hard time finding a place to rent. We are looking to rent anywhere between Aberdeen and Tacoma. Most places have really tough restrictions to meet and homes are grabbed up so fast we don't stand a chance. Does anyone know of a private individual that has a home for rent? We wanted to move very soon. Any help you can offer would be great. Thank you!

Can you provide more information about what kind of place you want, your price range, and whether you have pets? (Just an FYI, if you arrive with pets, it will be exceedingly difficult (but not impossible) to find a place to rent. When supply is as low as it is in WA, landlords can afford to be very picky.

For smaller cities like Aberdeen/Hoquiam, Centralia/Chehalis, etc., check the rental listings of the local property management firms.

This is the inherent problem in Washington State. That gleaming job offering draws them in, but housing costs that are heading towards that of California and less than 1% vacancy in many areas.

Yeah rental market is so tight property managers don't have to do much advertising. Better off going directly to their sites and checking inventory. By the time it hits craigslist/hotpads/etc they're gone a lot of the time.

I'd think no smoking/pets are the restrictions the OP speaks of? A co-worker was looking for a unit that allowed pets and it took him 6 months to find something. He basically got lucky and was the first person to get in on someone else moving out.
