Moving to Kitsap county in a few weeks and I'm looking for cable TV referrals. I heard about Comcast and Direct TV... just wondering what are the locals take on these companies and if there are better options. I need local channels (for news), ESPN, NFL channel, BET and Hallmark (for the wifey).

Also, do the cable companies there bundle internet too? Are there better options that I dont know about for internet?

Im also looking for good security system companies there.

And lastly, if I needed to get a patio built, any recommendations for a good contractor?

LoL Sorry for loading all these requests in one post, but I didnt wanna create a whole bunch of posts for each question

It depends on where in Kitsap you are moving. Port Orchard doesn't have Comcast service, for example. There is also WAVE which offers broadband internet and TV. They're okay, their website is a little annoying to navigate. All of them bundle, but DirectTV bundles with CenturyLink, which is DSL and not broadband, and I've always found DSL to be slow and unreliable

My great aunt just sold her place in Kitsap County and moved/downsized, one of the reasons being she could only get Satellite, the other being she's just getting old and wanted to be closer to medical facilities and family. Make sure the services you want are ACTUALLY available before you buy, and not via word of mouth from the realtor! Go see what the neighbors have, etc.

My brother had a similar experience. He wanted DirectTV at his new house and they aren't able to serve his area, and his only choice was Wave. At my house in Bremerton, I not only get Xfinity, I can access one of their hot spots from my house (handy when my son is killing the internet with the Xbox).

the NFL channel has all kinds of NFL related programming. They don't really show games, but they have bios, highlights, basically a channel featuring all things NFL

A few friends in the area said they have Comcast. When I was up there a few months ago, I saw a few homes with DirecTV on their properties.

The next part is to figure out how to scape my yard.... Perhaps that should be its own post.....?

Default Update

It has been confirmed, no Comcast, no Xfinity.. but there is Wave which has a bundle, but gets pricey.

One option I was told is to get Wave internet, and sign up for a directv service and stream it from a Roku type device. Im loved DirecTv when I was in Hawaii, but Im not sure how it'll work here in Silverdale... especially with this recent inclement weather and trees in the area...
