WA Initiative 1000 1) repeals Washington Civil Rights Act (I-200), 2) introduce the race factor (a.k.a Affirmative Action) in all public sectors (education, contracting, recruiting etc) and 3) establish an office in Olympia to give the government power to control the qualification merits with race in mind.

It was passed by the Legislature on the last day of the 2019 session WITHOUT permitting a public vote [3]. After July 27 it will formally become a law! Referendum Measure 88 (RM-88) [2] has been filed to revert this decision right back to where it should be – the hands of the people, who passed I-200 with 58.2% in 1998. It affects everyone in this state, and CA & others are watching, SO LET PEOPLE VOTE!

As the first step, R-88 needs to gather about 170K voter signatures (129,811 valid, non-duplicated signature required) by July 15. Once done, it will halt the current legalization process and force the I-1000 back to November ballot as RM88 (at that time, you need to reject it) [4]. Only 45 days left to get this done!!!

Please Help collect signatures around you as many, as soon, as possible. (absolutely respect the privacy, RM 88 purpose only!!)

1. Send email to rm88.wa@gmail.com and put the mail address with number of sheets you can help with, we will send you the official sheets and instructions (15 signatures per sheet).
2. Donate over https://www.letpeoplevote.org, this will go to the PAC and show on PDC. (Help to hire sign company etc.)
3. Feel free to contact the official PAC [1]
4. Spread this message.

Note: Only WA registered voters' signs are valid!

Shrug. I can't say why others didn't respond.

I didn't respond because I opposed the referendum. And voted "no" on it today.

The law that the OP is defending was passed as an initiative in 1998. The politics in the state have changed quite a bit since then, which is why the 2019 legislature voted to repeal and replace that law with legislation that the OP opposes.

Polls won't close for another two hours or so. Anyone interested can track tabulations here - https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/current/default.htm

A very close vote on this one. My best guess it will fail when all the Eastern WA votes come in.

SOS office says it is being rejected, 51.27% to 48.73%.

I thank the starts Referendum 88 is being REJECTED. Sanity wins, institutionalized racism and identity politics loses.

It's sounds like it'll be rejected by about 2%.

Good thing to reject it, IMO.

I agree and not sure it's Constitutional (shouldn't be for sure) to discriminate the way that Bill would allow discrimination based on race, gender, and other social constructs.
