The idea that the sun never shines on Western Washington 10 months of the year is false, and to some extent is exaggerated by those who want to create a narrative that will slow in-migration. Take it is for what it is worth. Propaganda.

Do you paddle off the shores of Edmonds on Puget Sound, dav51lin? Just curious. That's me olde stomping grounds.

No such luck with that kind of weather yesterday in Olympia. Just overcast and rainy all day.

Olympia has also been foggy when other places are dry. Is it sunny now?

That's too bad. It can be cloudy/rainy ten miles from a place with a sun break.

Yes, we actually experienced that again on our drive to the Oregon Coast just yesterday. Left in the rain/fog and as soon as we crossed the Columbia River we were hit with sun. Its kinda shocking when you don't see it as much during winter, but refreshing. Maybe if in Olympia one just needs to drive north or south more to catch those winter sun breaks?

We actually drove to the Southern Oregon coast for a winter getaway. We caught a nice sunset tonight and tomorrow is supposed to be a great weather day along the coast and in the redwoods where we're headed.
