You can embed the link of the photos that you upload to this forum. Just copy and paste and link like this

That link doesn’t work.
Could you fix it.
Thank you so much.
Andy.

Beautiful shot, Andy!

You can certainly just attach them like you did here to avoid hosting sites. It's really up to you.

That said, there are several benefits to using hosting sites. Here are some of them. They provide a central place to store, access and share photos with family and friends vs. uploaded or attaching to emails, etc... Perhaps the most important benefit is offsite storage and backup of my most important photos. Then there is the organizational benefit vs. looking on old personal computers for a shot I took 5+ years ago, for example.

They also will show up larger on social media sites like CD rather than a thumbnail. Upload once, share many times.

Derek

Yes, once you upload it to CD, they are then acting as the host for your photos. So you're really not avoiding a photo hosting site as much as using CD for that purpose. Granted you'll have less control of sizing and ownership of it when you do it this way. Basically, whatever you upload is publicly available in that format/size with no further input from you. Whereas with a hosting site you establish the rules for how they are displayed and used. You can delete, add, hide establish private galleries from a management console you control, not the company or forum.

Here's your new CD hosted URL:

The spring weather has been beautiful in WA so far this year with a nice mix of rain and sun. I've been staying mostly close to home due to the virus. And it's nice when you don't have to travel far to enjoy the outdoors, practicing social distancing, of course!

Once again Derek,
Absolutely awesome pics.

Yesterday the wife and I drove to Forks and the surrounding areas.
We looked at our gps maps program and hit a lot of off the path roads
It was weather perfect.
Waterfalls everywhere while closer to the mountains.

We even got to see a very large salmon or steelhead jumping several times next to us as we we’re walking on the river rocks at Sol Duc River.
It was close to 36 inches.

We are so blessed to be close to this.
All the best.
Andy.

One former native said I wouldn’t see the sun from October to June. That was a lie

If you live here for enough winters, you'll get a few exceptionally dark, wet ones.

Personally,
I’ve been sheltering in place here for near 6 weeks in Clallum County.
Today might be our second drizzle day and that only lasted 2-3 hours.
Different years produce different weather.

The eagles have returned.
We see them daily.

Life is good .
