Fun fact: Amtrak runs through Tri Cities with the Portland section of the great Empire Builder train but doesn’t stop if there are no passengers arriving or departing.

What wars? There haven't been any Middle East wars that cost anything for at least 5 years now.

Lol, really? 5 years, wow. I guess time before then doesn’t count, that was free money. not to mention still in Afghanistan and then Syria. Arab spring springs to mind, although not full blown war, but pretty sure American taxpayers sprang something for it. For the cost of Iraq war you probably could’ve had universal healthcare and wiped out student debt. Not just some paltry bridges and rails. But hey, who needs updated and upgraded infrastructure? I’ve heard it’s too expensive and wasteful.

I'd decommission all the train tracks along Puget Sound and turn them into a fabulous vista walkway connecting numerous parks (existing and new).

Only thing I'd really want to change is the weeks of smoke from forest fires. But I'm sure the wand would have a touch of monkey's paw and it would accomplish that by eliminating all trees.

I do wonder why do we have to deal with lots of smoke from forest fires anymore, that was not the norm until the Summer of 2015 although Summers of 2016 and 2019 were pretty much return to norm, I would also like to see cooler and rainier summers in Eastern Washington.

I wish cost of buying/renting a home in Eastern Washington would go back to 2016 levels.

Changes in forest management in the last 20 years is now catching up: Reduced logging and thinning, the patchwork of clearcuts and young forests help break up areas so fires don't spread as easily. Reduced cleanup after logging, leaving more debris and fuel on the ground. Less forest management and thinning of the understory to reduce ladder fuels. Reduction and even elimination of logging access roads.

I'm not sure it's a good trade, wasting trees in fire that we used to be able to use. I'm definitely sure it's not any GREENER.
